Tragically, the club lost one of its women's club members in March of 2006. Vicki passed away after a 2 year battle with cancer. She was 33 years old and is survived by her husband Bruce and two young daughters Harleigh and Kelsey.
Bruce and Vicki have been active members of the club since graduating Rutgers University in 1994. Vicki also served as President of the woman's rugby club for two years. Both played on the Rutgers rugby team in New Brunswick, NJ. Vicki also achieved a masters in social work and worked as a social worker and was dedicated to helping others.
Victoria Knight Macbeth Golf Outing:
In 2006 the club decided to create a scholarship fund in memory of Vicki and to hold a golf outing as the primary fundraiser. It was an opportunity for friends and family to come together to raise money for a good cause and once a year celebrate Vicki's life by giving back to the community she was a part of. Scholarships will be awarded to college bound students who demonstrate a strong comitment to academics and to the community.
The Monmouth Rugby Club is committed to continuing this effort and building on the success of last years outing. We hope you will join us for this years event.
The cost for golf and dinner does not generate any revenue for the scholarship fund. This is accomplished by the generosity of contributions.
